Evening wear ?! Help me!

So, I've never been to a black tie affair and am having to enlist the help of my sister for a shopping trip.
Can anyone suggest a good place in surrey to look? (for a dress, not my sister, I know where she is)

I got a bargain by going into a bridal shop and buying an on sale bridesmaids dress. You are limited to sizes and colours depending on what is actually on sale. But I managed to get a floor length forest green dress which was over £200 for less than £40!

There are some great bargains to be had and as a slightly more curvy lady they had more of the larger sizes in the sale than smaller ones.
