Question, I was looking at the nomination list just now and saw that Towers of Midnight by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson is on it twice, though under two different publishing company's, will the totals be put together for a final tally or what why will it work, or is a mistake and should it just be under one of the company's?
Permalink Reply by drosdelnoch on December 17, 2010 at 17:01 The nominations have come from the duo's UK and US publishers, when we put the poll up we only put one vote button for each title, that way you don't have to worry which one you push.
thanks for the quick reply, wasn't really sure if it was a mistake or not.
Permalink Reply by drosdelnoch on December 18, 2010 at 21:34 As to who gets to accept the trophy should Brandon win and be unable to make it, could be interesting, you see, in the case of Towers of Midnight, I like Orbit but I also like Tor US. But which ones better? Theres only one way to find out....
FFFFIIIIGGGHHHHTTTT!!!!
(For those outside the UK, this might help.)
Permalink Reply by Phil Keeton on February 15, 2011 at 22:04 How about an award for contributions to the Fantasy Genre......this would include alternate history, reality or Sci-Fi writers who have written influential crossover.....the Wooden Horse Award (a sneeky one you weren't expecting to jump ya!)
But seriously.......how about a Hall of Fame?!
If Rock n Roll can have one....why cant we?!
Something classic too for the name, reflecting David's homage to epic.....
How about the Odyssey......the Elyssian Field......etc etc....each year we could induct a number of writers ....say 2 classic, 2 modern and 1 for contribution to the genre.

Thanks. There are lots of fantasy authors associated with the DGLA. Do you think it might help to drive more activity to the Forum and the rest of the website if you had some kind of regular activity with some of these authors? For example, a monthly Q&A session with one of the authors, hosted here, and advertised through relevant fantasy websites?
Just a thought - feel free to tell me if it has already been thought of, and isn't possible for whatever reason.
Cheers, Patrick.
